Pre-Wedding Card

My girlfriends are the greatest group of gals that I know.  Truly.  In October, one of my girls married her perfect guy on a beautiful fall day.  For anyone who has planned a wedding or has helped someone plan a wedding, she would know that there is an INSANE amount of work that goes into it.  The few weeks that lead up to the wedding typically are the most stressful.  Her best friend (who became a Mrs. also in August!) had the fantastic idea that all of the girls would MAKE the bride a card and include words of encouragement to keep her excited and focus on the union to happen.  She would receive this card on her bridal shower and then every day leading up to the wedding she would open one card and feel the love of a loved one.

This project was super meaningful in general, but it was uber meaningful in this instance because the bride is a paper craft-making guru.  I am not a paper crafter at heart.  Not a little bit.  But I have dabbled in it because of the bride.  She hosts amazing paper craft demos and inspired many of our friends; she also has two blogs here and here

And so in making this card for her I wanted it to be worthy of her.  And it took me FOREVER.  There are so many options in terms of color and pattern mixing, and different embellishments as well as the placement and layering of it all.  The end product I am very happy about, but it also reminded me why I don’t do paper-crafts (too many decisions!!) and how awesome she is at it.

Congrats again SKT and JK!

  1. Awww I'm now known as STK! Sssstk. The cards were wonderful and they are all taped into my wedding journal. I know what you mean about options! Sometimes a card can take hours but the finished product looks like a 10 min card.
